Body sculpting has become very popular over the last few years as it pertains to self-care. Not only does it help build a more positive body image, but it also encourages adopting a healthier lifestyle in order to maintain the results it yields. Many of us can attest to not always eating healthy or exercising regularly. Although bad habits can change for the better over time, there are instances where long-term neglect accumulates in the body and more work/help is needed to see improvements. If you read last week’s blog, then you’ve joined me this week to hear about the other treatments I received during my non-invasive body treatment program and the results I’ve seen. It’s good to note that your body sculpting specialist may not perform all the treatments discussed over these last couple weeks in one setting but will create a program using a combination of treatments depending how your body is responding to each session. Red Light Therapy
Red light therapy is a treatment that can help skin, muscle tissue and other parts of your body heal. It uses low levels of red light to target your skin and cells. It works by increasing the production of mitochondria, your cells' energy sources, to improve cell function. Red light therapy is also called low-level laser therapy, low power therapy, low-power laser, or photobiomodulation. This treatment is used for skin rejuvenation, skin healing, and prevention of skin laxity/cellulite.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage and Brazilian Massage
These are two therapeutic techniques designed to stimulate the lymphatic system and promote the natural flow of lymph through the body, and to break down compact fat pockets giving the body a better contour. The lymphatic system plays a crucial role in the immune system, helping to eliminate toxins, waste products, and excess fluid from the body. Lymphatic drainage massage is often used to address issues such as swelling, inflammation, and compromised immune function. This type of massage aims to help the body maintain proper blood circulation, body fluid balance, and immune functions. Brazilian massage uses vigorous, fast, and firm movements, such as kneading and sliding, to move cellulite around. Wood therapy may also be used during these massages.

Vacuum Therapy
This treatment is a non-invasive massaging technique that helps to lift your skin via a mechanical device equipped with suction cups. Vacuum therapy, also known as depressomassage, originates from cupping therapy and is used for the treatment of cellulite. One such therapy is known as Endermologie, which was the first FDA approved treatment of its kind. It works by reducing swelling in the affected skin to help decrease the look of cellulite dimples.

After the second treatment I noticed the quarter sized dimples in my thigh were smoothing out. I was advised that I would see final results about three months after the last treatment session, although excretion begins right away. The rate at which results appear is dependent on how effective the body’s lymphatic system flushes out the damaged cells, as well as your diet and exercise routine. As with any body sculpting treatment, it’s necessary to maintain a healthy diet and exercise program to keep the remaining fat cells in the area from expanding with weight gain. I was told that results are considered permanent when paired with a healthy diet and regular exercise.

This entire process is a real commitment. Most people need at least three weekly treatments to see their desired goal. If this is a program that you are considering, keep in mind that unlike liposuction and other fat reduction treatments, body sculpting is not a weight-loss procedure. To be a good candidate you’ll need to be at, or very close to your goal weight and looking only to remove disrespectful fat deposits, in my case, that have been holding strong since high school.
